As a secondary residence, designer Abby Craighton wanted to create an inviting space suitable for both hosting and living. With concrete floors, walls of windows, and a very modern shell, this type of space could lend itself to feeling cold and not welcoming. By paying attention to the warm colors and cozy textures, Craighton gave the spaces the warmth needed without sacrificing the modern style. Blending in some dashes of industrial and masculine flair created the exact outcome the client desired and an outstanding final space!

A beautiful AI rendering isn’t the same thing as a design plan. 👀
AI can be an amazing tool for exploring ideas, experimenting with styles, and finally getting the vision in your head onto “paper.” But while it can create an inspiring image in seconds, it can’t see the whole story of your home.
It doesn’t understand the full three dimensional space or how your family actually lives in the room. It may even move a window, resize a sectional, or create a piece of furniture that doesn’t exist....all to make the image just look better. 😅
That doesn’t mean you shouldn’t use it! Think of AI as a starting point: play with ideas, save the images that inspire you. But take them with a grain of salt and bring them to your designer!
From there, we can turn that inspiration into a thoughtful plan designed around your real rooms, real budget, real timeline, and real life.
Because AI can generate a picture, but a designer helps you create a home. ✨
