Kitchen and Patio — Alex
The goal with my kitchen and patio was to blend the homes architectural details with natural elements for a modern aesthetic. In the new design of my kitchen that doubled the square footage, the island extended beyond a ceiling beam. I needed a long light fixture to accommodate mounting on each side of the beam. The Visual Comfort Wit Linear Suspension Light designed by Sean Levin accomplished this perfectly and fits the earthy modern direction. On the patio, the featured piece from Dwell is my Four Hands Table and Chairs. The goal was to seat 10 and to fit in with my home and landscape. The 106” long Soho Table made with reclaimed teak hit perfectly on seating capacity. The Lomas Chairs in a contrast of black stained teak with all-weather wicker check the boxes for size, style, and durability.
Living Room — Jackie
After moving into a new home, I made a fresh start with new Dwell pieces in our open-concept living room/dining room. I started with a pair of cozy Natuzzi swivel chairs upholstered in a soft velvet the color of light cognac. We love that we can swivel out to the view and then back to conversation without blocking the window. I layered a Loloi wool area rug underfoot that had the same color as the swivel chairs running through it as well as a hint of green. Playing off that secondary color, I ordered my favorite American Leather recliner in a rich green natural leather to accent the warmth in the room. The other pieces that completed the living room were the TV console that adds great texture and hides my daughter’s toys, and the oversized light fixture over the dining table that added a bold presence.
Music Room — Eve
A music room needs to be fun, and I am loving how my creative space is coming together with the Feizy area rug, chairs, and side table from Dwell. The shapely curves and saturation of color in the rug and table contrast with the clean lines of the chairs, making it feel inviting and vibrant. You can easily take a seat and strum on the guitar or sit back with a drink while someone plays the piano. Even Goose, the dog, loves hanging out here!
Living Room — Marcus
Curating this organic modern living room has been exciting! Most of the pieces are from Dwell, starting with the Espen sectional from American Leather. Knife-edged cushions paired with the clean and simple lines of the frame give this sectional sofa an inviting and comfortable place to kick back and relax. The hand-tufted wool rug from Jaipur brings in pattern and texture to help anchor the space. Tribal-inspired metal discs add dimensional art to bring depth to the walls and add another material and shape to the room. The live-edge cocktail table is a family heirloom and personal favorite that offers a Wabi-sabi aesthetic, bringing in that organic shape and adding the element of nature. The brass peace sign is something fun I paired with Kukui Nut Leis from my travels to Hawaii. I tossed in throw pillows of different sizes and patterns to make this space one I’ll enjoy for years to come!
Dining Room & Nursery — Abby
The goal with my dining room was to make it whimsical and serene. My favorite element from Dwell is the Romo wallpaper! Wallpaper is one of my favorite ways to add character to a space. The floral design includes shades of blue and green, adding a subtle pop of color without overwhelming the space. The touch of nature-inspired beauty complements the more modern furnishings.
Meanwhile, in the nursery, I wanted to balance a cheerful, cozy aesthetic, and I started with the Loloi area rug, which is one of my go-to tricks. A plush, shag-style rug with a soft, cozy texture invites comfort and lounging. It features a pattern with subtle pops of color, which adds a touch of playfulness and warmth to the room. It perfectly complements the vibrant wall design without overwhelming the space.
